SAT4 Cerro Castillo Backpacking in Patagonia

GO explore the wild Patagonian backcountry

GO explore Patagonia · GO live your bucket list · GO where your colleagues can't find you

  • GO explore the Patagonian backcountry in the Aysen region without crowds

  • GO experience mystical ancient forests and barren alpine passes with glaciers shimmering in the background

  • GO challenge yourself to a truly wild adventure

The Las Horquetas Circuit in the Cerro Castillo region of Chilean Patagonia is considered to be the wild alternative to the heavily traveled W- and O-Treks. Absent of huts and civilization, this backpacking tour offers an authentic Patagonian experience at a fraction of the price. The Cerro Castillo Backpacking tour is self-guided - we arrange the logistics for you (transportation and accommodation before and after the tour) and you do the tour independently with your own group and own dates. We provide navigation information via our navigation app and a personalized eGuidebook.

This tour is for experienced backpackers only. While the daily statistics for the tour make it look easy, obstacles such as river crossings and some light route finding, add to the difficulty level of this tour. Patagonia is a harsh environment, and its distance from the equator should not be underestimated. Extremely high winds and rapidly changing weather conditions should be expected.

We partner with local adventure experts in South America to provide you with this amazing adventure.
