Cycling through the Alps offers an unforgettable way to experience dramatic mountain landscapes, historic villages, and quiet alpine valleys. Alpenventures UNGUIDED designs self-guided Alps bike tours that allow you to explore the region on carefully planned routes while traveling at your own pace. Our most popular tours are the Via Claudia Augusta and the Munich to Venice Bike Tour. Our itineraries include detailed navigation, comfortable accommodations, and luggage transfers (most itineraries) so you can focus on enjoying the ride. Whether you prefer scenic valley cycling, classic Alpine passes, or multi-country journeys, our self-guided bike tours provide the support and expertise needed to experience the Alps independently.

Thanks to the extensive network of bicycle paths, bicycle touring in Europe is perfect for all fit adventurers, not just experienced cyclists.  Many of our bicycle touring customers are experienced hikers, looking for a new experience. So, GO cycle the Alps. GO cross country borders on your bicycle, GO enjoy food from different regions and GO experience the Alps in a way you may have never imagined.

The Via Claudia Augusta is the most established bike route that crosses the Alps, making it an ideal tour for beginners or anyone looking to take advantage of excellent cycling infrastructure along the way. Our tour covers the Alps crossing, beginning in Germany’s mountain town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and ending at Italy’s Lake Garda. You’ll move through Bavarian hills, mountain landscapes, and beautiful valleys leading to Mediterranean vineyards and orchards. The route is clearly signed and stays almost entirely away from vehicle traffic, with some small exceptions in the heart of small villages or short stretches of bicycle lane on roads

Castles, mountains, food, culture, and history—this Munich to Venice bike tour spans three countries and offers the experience of a lifetime. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Bavarian Alps, Austria’s spectacular Tyrolean mountains, and the city of Innsbruck, nestled deep in the Inn Valley. From there, the journey continues across the Italian Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and into wine country and rural farmland before reaching Venice. We recommend allowing time to explore Munich and Venice before and after your tour. The route is well signed, with most of the journey following dedicated bike paths and small rural roads
