Part-time IT Support and Projects Specialist (m/w/d)

Alpenventures UNGUIDED is seeking a responsible and reliable IT specialist with a broad range of IT skills to provide IT support and complete IT-related projects. We are a boutique Adventure Travel company with 10 employees, offering self-guided multi-day adventures, such as hut to hut hikes and bicycle tours. This position has flexible work hours.
The ideal candidate for this position has relevant and applicable knowledge of current and changing IT trends, and is willing to regularly learn new skills and platforms, as our company grows and the IT world evolves. This is a broad IT generalist role. We do not expect candidates to have experience with every tool listed below. The right candidate should have strong general IT skills, good problem-solving ability, and the willingness to learn new systems as needed.
As we are an adventure travel company, we appreciate candidates with a passion for outdoor sports and the Alps.

Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day IT support. Platforms include but are not limited to:
- Microsoft Enterprise Administration
- Microsoft Office Products
- Microsoft Teams Phone system
- V2 Cloud Remote Desktop
- Hardware devices and asset management
- Manage and maintain hardware setup in our Munich office location
- Set up and maintain new and existing hardware for team members
- Track all IT assets
- IT projects and automation. Platforms include but are not limited to:
- ChatGPT and other AI platforms
- Zapier
- MS Excel Macros
- WordPress
- IT security and documentation
- Support the creation, documentation, and maintenance of IT security policies, access controls, and basic compliance procedures.

We are an Adventure Travel company, offering self-guided multi-day adventures, such as hut to hut hikes and bicycle tours. This is a home office position, with flexible hours and some location independency.

Responsibilities:
- Work with potential customer requests, providing friendly and competent service, and converting them to customers
- Serve as the point of contact for customer questions before, during and after their tour
- Receive and process customer bookings
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding customers’ needs, setting proper expectations and communicating clearly and timely
- Make reservations with Service Providers for customers’ tours, which includes processing and documenting deposit payments
- Process cancellations and communicate timely and clearly with service providers
- Verify all details of the customers’ tour bookings and planning are correctly organized and thoroughly communicated with the customer
- Provide customers with complete and accurate documentation required for their tour
- Resolve on-trip issues quickly and effectively (this will require occasional evening and weekend attention, mostly during the main summer season)
- Ensure the tour is enjoyable for customers before, during and after
- Documentation of customer and service provider interactions, as well as keeping key customer and service provider data current
- Maintain strong relationships with our Service Providers
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and ability to correctly answer customers' questions about hut-to-hut hiking in the Alps on an expert level, with an emphasis on safety
- Fluent in English, preferably conversational German and/or basic French language skills
- Utilize translation tools to communicate with service providers in multiple languages
- Read and interpret a topographical map
- Understand and plan complex travel itineraries, often involving multiple segments in one day
- Work in multiple currencies and measurement units (for example, do frequent conversions between kilometers and miles; meters and feet)
- Interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, both internally with colleagues and externally with customers and service providers
- Ability to understand and empathize with customers’ concerns before, during and after their tour
- Resourceful problem-solving
- Work with ambiguity in a constantly changing environment
- Tech savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to various applications and online platforms. We prefer experience working with MS Office
- Ability to prioritize diverse tasks and meet deadlines
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience hut-to-hut hiking in the Alps, preferably as a mountain guide
- Substantial work experience in operations, customer service, sales, adventure travel, logistics or a related field
- Proven previous travel planning and organization skills, either in a professional or private role

Working Location: This is a Home Office position. The candidate must reside in Germany. Candidate must be available for a 3-week in-person training at the beginning of the employment period.
Salary: 3,160€ - 3,800€ per month, depending on experience (37,900€ - 45,600€ per year) gross pay; 38 hours per week
