AV1-9 Private Rooms Guaranteed Itineraries
The Alta
Via 1 9-day Early Exit Itinerary moves at a similar pace to the 10-day standard
itinerary, but exits the route early, avoiding the most remote section
of the trail, which includes some of the more difficult and exposed sections of
trail that can feel intimidating to some hikers. Exiting early from Rifugio Sommariva
al Pramperet is also beneficial for hikers seeking the comfort of private
rooms, because the last stretch that is skipped only has dormitory
accommodation available. It’s a great option if you’re fit and experienced on
mountain paths but less confident with exposure and loose, “chossy” terrain.
You still hike hut to hut across most of the Alta Via 1 and enjoy the
Dolomites’ unique mix of dramatic limestone scenery and World War I history,
while following route variations chosen to keep exposure to a minimum. For
added ease, this itinerary also offers optional luggage transportation from
Cortina d’Ampezzo to two refuges and Belluno, helping you keep your
backpack lighter on some stages (see Add-ons tab for more information). This 9-day itinerary* is guaranteed, meaning
reservations have already been confirmed. The availability is extremely
limited, and it is only available to parties of 2 booking the Classic Package. Because
they are pre-booked we cannot modify them or change any of the reservations. The focus of this itinerary is accommodation
with private rooms, and all of the available dates are 100% in private rooms.
Since the huts on the last stretch of the Alta Via 1 do not have private rooms,
this itinerary exits the Alta Via 1 early via Malga di Pramper (near Rifugio
Sommariva al Pramperet). From Malga di Pramper, it is possible to take a taxi
to the nearest bus stop. Alternatively, if you choose to complete the tour and
stay in a dormitory on the last night, you can book this as an Add-on, which
adds one additional night. There are currently 3 different itineraries
available: Itinerary A follows the standard, well-distributed
Alta Via 1 9-day Itinerary. Itinerary B includes a rest day on
Day 2 (this is an interesting area to explore with some nearby peaks) and 8
days of hiking, which makes the hiking days a bit longer. Itinerary B is more
challenging and is not suitable for all hikers. It has a reduced price. Itinerary C includes 9 days of hiking and a rest day on Day 2 (this is an interesting area to explore with some nearby peaks). All itineraries can clearly be seen on the Itineraries tab, and they are also
designated in the Booking platform. You can check the dates that are available
for this itinerary by clicking on the green "GO Book the Tour"
