Tour du Mont Blanc
1:60,000 Due to the large area it covers, finding a good map for the Tour du Mont Blanc is very difficult. We looked at many potential map choices, but this is the only map we would purchase for the TMB. This map is in French.
Mont Blanc Climbing
1:25,000 We recommend this map for climbing Mont Blanc. Although it is made from regular paper, it illustrates the climbing routes better than any other maps we have seen. The map is concentrated further south...Chamonix is just barely cut off, and the map reaches east to Courmayeur and beyond. This map is in Italian.
Bernese Overland, Interlaken and the Jungfrau Region
1:60,000 This map is so great, we got excited when we found it! This map reaches further north than the tip of the Brienzersee, west beyond Kandersteg, South beyond Fiesch, and East to Hasliberg. There is so much adventure to be had! We also love the high quality paper it is printed on, as well as how easy it is to read.
Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau Climbing
1:25,000 This map is great for climbing in the Jungfrau region. It reaches just barely north to Interlaken, and just South of the Jungfrau. The standard route up the Jungfrau from the Jungfrau Saddle is covered, but any alternative routes up the Jungfrau from further south may not be covered.
Tour des Combins
1:50,000 There is not a perfect map for the Tour des Combins, and the best one we could find is rather expensive. This map covers the entire route in sufficient detail with great contrast, but is printed on paper that is not waterproof and is not ideal for adventures.
Zermatt, Matterhorn, Dufourspitze
1:25,000 Although printed on regular map paper that is not water resistant, it provides the best detailed coverage of Zermatt, the Matterhorn, and the Breithorn. This map does stretch down to the Dufourspitze, the highest point on Monte Rosa, but does not cover the entire Monte Rosa traverse. We are still searching for the perfect map for the traverse.

Ischgl
1:35,000 This is a high quality map covers up to Landeck in the northeast corner, and to the Jamtal Hut in the southwest corner. We love the 1:35,000 scale on this map, as it provides a great balance between detail, and covering a large area, suited for multi-day hikes.
Sellrain and Stubai
1:50,000 This is a high-quality map with a map key in English, German, French, and Italian that covers a gorgeous area in Austria that is not very well known internationally. With Innsbruck in the Northeast corner of the map, it stretches as far West as Oetz, and South to Zuckerhuetl. As is standard with Kompass maps, it is accompanied by a small guidebook, although only written in German and Italian.
Sellrain
1:25,000 Although on first glance it does not appear to be the highest quality map, this map offers detail for snowshoeing, skiing, or hiking in the Sellrain Mountains. This map is made from paper, and ships from Germany.

The map stretches as far north as Fischen, and South into Austria as far as Warth. As is standard with Kompass maps, it is accompanied by a small guidebook, although only written in German and Italian.

We love the 1:35,000 scale on this map. As is standard with Kompass maps, it is accompanied by a small guidebook, although only written in German and Italian.
Dolomites
1:35,000 The mapping company, Kompass, has just started putting out binders of maps covering entire regions. This is an incredible deal, and if you are planning on visiting a few different areas in the Dolomites, this is the most cost-effective way to purchase your maps! This is a 3-ring binder that has great quality maps, printed on great paper, that cover the entire state of Suedtirol in Italy.
Bellunesi Dolomites

Vanoise National Park
1:60,000 Printed on high quality and waterproof paper, this map with very helpful shading covers the Vanoise National Park. Despite its large scale, it gives all the detail needed to follow the main trails around the area. We recommend using a more detailed scale for any glacier travel in the area.
