HHT12-5W Best of the Dolomites Trek 5-day West Itinerary
Beginning at the celebrated Seceda Viewpoint, the Best
of the Dolomites Trek heads east, passing the World War I historic sites in the
Passo Falzarego area, eventually weaving its way to the charming mountain town
of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Along the way, stop at charming mountain rifugios
to enjoy a delicious traditional dishes, surrounded by flower-filled meadows
and breathtaking 360-degree views. The route is continuous and follows sections of the
Alta Via 1, 2, 3, and 9 paths and generally avoids sketchy and technical
terrain, which can be a real challenge in the Dolomites. There are NO via ferratas on this route. This tour is perfect for those who have already
hiked the Alta Via 1 and want more time in the Dolomites or for those seeking
an alternative to the Alta Via 1. It’s also ideal for hikers who want to
utilize the lift infrastructure for easier trail access, and prefer the option
of comfortable private room accommodations*. Plus, the huts on this route tend
to have more availability, making it a great choice when Alta Via 1 huts are
fully booked. The terrain in the Dolomites is rugged. Every year, we
have customers who are surprised and unprepared for the challenges presented by
this rugged terrain. Read our Blog post on Trekking in the Dolomites for more information to help you decide if
trekking in the Dolomites is right for you.
