Castles, mountains, food, culture, and history-this Munich to Venice self-guided bike tour travels through three countries and is an experience of a lifetime. Over roughly 600 km, you follow a designated bicycle route that leads you through the breathtaking UNESCO-listed Dolomites and finishes at the Adriatic Sea. Exploring Europe by bike is one of the most immersive ways to connect with landscapes and local culture: every mile brings a new region, a new flavour, and a new view. The route is well signed, and most of the tour follows dedicated bike trails and small farm roads-ideal for travellers who want the freedom of bicycle touring the Alps self-guided, without managing the complex logistics.

We offer multiple itineraries from 7 to 12 days, and whichever version you choose, you’ll stay each night in hand-picked hotels that reflect the distinct regions you ride through. For extra comfort, we also offer a Comfort package with most nights in high-end accommodations. This is our favourite bike tour thanks to the incredible scenery and fantastic routing: start by passing lakes and tracing the Isar and Inn rivers through charming Bavarian and Tyrolean villages, then enter South Tyrol, where Alpine tradition meets Mediterranean flair in the cuisine and culture. As the dramatic rock pillars of the Dolomites rise around you, you’ll continue south toward Venice, where the terrain flattens for a relaxed, rewarding finale. In addition to serene natural landscapes, this tour offers heavy doses of culture as you make your way through everyday villages and through the cities of Munich, Innsbruck and Venice.

This tour is for active, curious travellers. You don’t need to be an “athlete cyclist,” but a basic level of fitness is required. For an even smoother experience, you can rent a bike or e-bike through us, add our Airport-to-Airport package, and book nightly luggage transfers (luggage transfers are most suitable to larger groups) as optional extras that keep things simple and give you peace of mind.

A few important notes about this route: The majority of the route keeps cyclists away from traffic, with only short stretches on a road, and almost always with a bicycle lane or through slow moving traffic in the heart of a village. The last two days of the route travels on small roads with light traffic through the Italian farmland north of Venice. There is a significant amount of gravel on this route, and it is not suitable for road cycling.
